these officers will close May 31.
The first complete report of the class of 1890 has
just been issued and contains some facts of general
interest. A large increase in the number of men
ouming from other colleges enabled '90 to graduate
with a longer roll than it had in the Freshman year.
The statistics of the class show that of the total
membership 172 are from New-England, 55 from the
Middle States, and 56 from the Southern and West-
ern States. In the matter of politics a fall-
ing off is noticeable in the quota of independents.
The returns show 111 to be Republicans, 70 Demo-
crats, 23 independent. S Prohibition, 1 free trade
and tariff reform; 27 are of no party or undecided,
and 50 have no expressed political views. AS to fut-

61. teaching 38, medicine 36, ministry 11, and
journalism 2.
The religious beliefs are divided in marked propor-
tion, the Unitarians being in the plurality with 54.
and the Episcopalians following close behind with
52 The class has no infidels or atheists.
Since graduation seven members of the class have
married, and four deaths are recorded in the general
history of the class.
The athletic record of '90 was not brilliant, but the
number of honors borne off by the members at Com-
mencement and during the college course gives
abundant proof of the earnestness of their studies.
Financially the class is in a prosperous condition.
